Mashimong man hacks his twin sister to death with spade

Mashimong Section community members marched to Tembisa Police Station to hand over a memorandum

A 40-year-old man was arrested on August 17 for the attempted murder of his sister.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said police were summoned to a house in Mashimong Section where they found a group of community members standing outside.

He said police were informed there was a woman lying in a pool of blood in the yard.

“Police officers immediately went inside. They found the woman who was bleeding profusely. She was unable to talk. An ambulance was summoned to ferry her to hospital.

Police later traced the 40-year-old murder suspect and arrested him,” said Ralidzhivha.

Ralidzhivha said the suspect’s twin sister later died from injuries sustained during the attack.

On August 18 Mashimong Section community members marched to Tembisa Police Station to hand over a memorandum.

“They demanded that the suspect not be given bail. The committee met with acting station commander Col Makhumisane and went back peacefully,” said Ralidzhivha.
