Yvette Matthews, Kabelo Molefe and Ncumisa Makhoba were the judges of the day.

The pageant then began with 11 contestants aged five to seven years battling it out in the first round by modelling smart casual outfits.

The crowds were screaming and shouting for different contestants during the second round when they modelled bikinis.

The final round ended with the contestants strutting around on the floor to grab the title.

Ntandokazi Maseko (5) took the crown. The first princess was Itumeleng Moloi (7), while the second princess was Gugulethu Dlamini (7).

The organisers of Miss Little Winter, Nompumelelo Ngobeni and Zinnia Makhanya congratulate Ntandokazi Maseko for clinching the title.

Young Maseko said she could not believe she finally took the title.”I am extremely excited to be crowned Miss Little Winter. I’ve learnt to believe in myself and be courageous at all times,” added Maseko.

Her parents Tholakele Maseko and Brian Mathiba said they were happy and proud of their child’s performance.

“According to judge Matthews, the girls were adjudicated based out of their self-confidence, smile, dress code, and dance and ability to subtract. The event organizer Zinnia Makhanya said the event was a success and all the girls were happy throughout the competition.

“Our aim was just to make them happy and to encourage them to gain more self-confidence. It was not about who was the most beautiful or best. It was meant to empower a girl child. We thank parents and everyone who came to support the event. We are hoping that next year’s event we will elicit a huge response from community members,” added Makhanya.

Makhanya and Ngobeni are planning to host a Mother and Daughter Tutu Fun Run.

They are targeting parents and children aged five to 17 years.

Affiliation fee for the fun run is R 50.
