A vacancy exists in the community safety sector of the ward committee of Ward 23, which includes Bonaero Park.
All organised formations, interest groups and sectors are invited to nominate and register a candidate for the filling of the vacancy. Nomination is open until October 13.
Nomination forms are available at Benoni Customer Care Centre, Benoni Public participation office and Kempton Park Customer Care Centre and after completion must be submitted to the public participation offices.
Elections will take place on October 18 at 6pm at Eden Retirement Village in Brentwood Park.
Requirements to be nominated/elected as a ward committee member are:
• The person must be a South African citizen,
• The person must be a registered voter of the particular ward,
• The person must be at least 18 years of age,
• The person must have no criminal convictions, and
• The person must not owe council money for services, or be in arrears but is willing to make the necessary arrangements to settle the account according to set council policy.
