Free Gautrain rides for children this festive season

Accompanying parents/guardians will be required to tag in with a valid Gautrain card.

THIS festive season, Gautrain is taking the strain out of holiday travel.

Two children aged 12 years or under per family ride free on the Gautrain airport service between December 8 and January 14. Accompanying fare-paying parents/guardians are encouraged to pre-register their planned trip to OR Tambo International Airport online at www.gautrain.co.za to avoid delays at the designated Gautrain station.

Upon arrival at the Gautrain station, parents/guardians will be required to visit the promotion desk to present documents to verify the children’s date of birth. The promoter will then issue the children aged 12 years and younger with a wristband to facilitate the free access to the paid area.

A promoter will also be available at the arrival station to facilitate the exit process. Accompanying parents/guardians will be required to tag in with a valid Gautrain card. It is essential that parents/guardians familiarise themselves with the terms and conditions at www.gautrain.co.za before travelling to avoid any inconvenience or disappointment.

In addition to this promotion, safe and secure parking is also available at all Gautrain stations. Train-users who park their vehicles for more than 10 days at the Gautrain’s Marlboro or Sandton stations will receive a discounted parking rate.

All bus trips taken between December 8 and January 14 will cost only R1 a trip. The R1 bus fare is applicable to both train and non-train users.
