Local store hosts Christmas party for Child Welfare Kempton Park
It was all smiles and laughter at the special party.
CHRISTMAS came early when Shoprite OR Tambo hosted a Christmas party for 70 children at Child Welfare Kempton Park on November 15.
“We at Child Welfare Kempton Park sincerely express our gratitude to Shoprite for their generous gesture,” said Makha Thusi, director at Child Welfare Kempton Park.
“These are children from areas where the organisation provides its services to the needy children, their families and the community. The areas include Erasmus, Plot 118 and Plot 125 informal settlements.
Thusi posed a challenge to other stakeholders to replicate Shoprite’s ‘act of goodwill’ by saying: “Let us all join hands in putting smiles on the faces of the children who otherwise would not have afforded being pampered during this Christmas.
“Our mission is to protect, promote and enhance the safety and well-being of children in and around Kempton Park, including the neighbouring informal settlements.”
The children received party packs and cakes at the party which they thoroughly enjoyed.
