Phomolong man stabs his cousin to death after argument

He made his first appearance at Tembisa Magistrate's Court on November 27

A man stabbed a family member to death at a family gathering in Phomolong section on November 25.

Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer Captain Mofana Matsobane Masela said the two young men were visiting their uncle and aunt.

“The two men were enjoying time with their cousin while drinking alcohol in the family garage and when an argument ensued they couldn’t control their anger. The suspect (34) who is related to the husband (Uncle) stabbed the victim (29) who is related to the woman (Aunt), in the right side under the right arm with a sharp, big knife. The victim bled too much and died on the scene,” said Captain Masela.

The suspect was arrested and was charged with murder.

He made his first appearance at Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on November 27.

“As Rabie Ridge SAPS we are worried about a lot of murders in our policing precinct.

“Most of them are the result of the abuse of alcohol and robberies, which is a nightmare. We call on our communities to behave in a decent manner when enjoying themselves and they must educate one another to keep themselves safe at all times.”
