Casa Caritas blessed with donations at Intercare day
The day was held in the spirit of Christmas on December 1, at Cavendish Glen.
INTERCARE spearheaded a charity awareness day on Saturday which saw Casa Caritas receive donations for the needy who are under its care.
The day was held in the spirit of Christmas at Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre.
Community members also had the opportunity to undergo health screenings such as eye tests, blood tests, pap smears, cholesterol tests, blood pressure and blood tests.
“To entertain visitors we had a vintage car show and a live band, who agreed to do it for free,” Madi Rudolph said.
Ada Botes of Intercare said the initiative was simply about giving back to the people.
“We wanted to show people that at Intercare we care. We are very grateful for the kindness that was shown. We would like to extend a big thank you to all those who opened their pockets for this initiative.
“We appreciate all the support that they have shown us. We are going to continue to ask people to give back to the needy. With this, we would like to give blessings to everyone this Christmas.”
Frank Fernandez, manager of Cash Build who handed over food to Casa Caritas, said: “We also handed over tons of bricks and paint. Casa Caritas has been a home to many disabled people for the past 40 years.”
Fernadez’s wife Elize also gave a trolley packed with food.
