Christmas drive a hit with the children
Children from Norkem Park and Birchleigh North enjoyed the fun
RESIDENTS of Norkem Park enjoyed the holiday spirit during the annual Christmas drive on Friday evening, where security companies such as Alpha Security, ADT and MML were at the forefront.
The coordinator of the drive, Annette Niemand, said: “Annually, we have the Christmas drive to dish out sweets to children in the community. The areas that we visit are Norkem Park and Birchleigh North, including the extensions.
“We have many sweets this year and it all comes from the members the community. We also had many sponsors and would like to praise residens who have come forward.
“We would also like to send a special thanks to all the security companies that were part of the drive. It was quite nice to work with them on something that is not crime related,” Niemand said.
She said the Christmas drive was arranged by Dave and Dorothy Davel.
“This year was a tribute to such wonderful pillars of the community. Our thoughts and well wishes are with Dave, who was in an accident.
“We would like to give thanks to Dorothy, who is currently standing in for both of them at the CPF. You are pillars of strength. We are grateful for your big hearts every year.
“We would also like to thank the residents who sponsored our outfits,” Niemand said.
