Welamlambo learners get food parcels from trust
The Peermont Children's Trust make these donations every year before the school holidays.
Before the start of the December school holidays, the Peermont Children’s Trust (PCT), one of Peermont Global’s flagship Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programmes, once again gave food parcels to less fortunate learners from disadvantaged areas that fall in the Emperors Palace catchment area.
About 650 youngsters that attend the seven aftercare centres supported by the trust in Ekurhuleni benefited from this initiative.
One of these beneficiaries was Welamlambo Primary Aftercare Centre in Tembisa, who received their donations on November 30.
The trust-supported aftercare centres have 22 affiliated primary schools and provide supervised after-school care during the school term, while also providing a meal every day for the attending children.
The centre learners also receive food parcels before the mid-year school holidays, new uniforms at the start of each year and are treated to a Christmas party annually.
