The Ivory Park SAPS is investigating a case of business robbery and murder after two men were fatally shot in a tuck shop in Ivory Park Extension Two on January 19.
According to Tembisa SAPS communication officer, Constable Patricia Mgijima, the two male victims, aged 28 and 32 years, were sitting in the tuck shop when they were approached by two unknown men armed with firearms.
“The tuck shop belongs to the one deceased’s brother,” Mgijima said. “It is believed both the victims tried to fight the suspects and they were fatally wounded during the struggle. They were shot in the upper body.”
Mgijima said the suspects ransacked the tuck shop and took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
“They ran away on foot. No arrests have been made. We are appealing for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.”
