A Norkem Park man was hijacked and shot in front of his home at 5.37pm on Thursday evening.
CCTV footage shows how two unidentified men walk slowly down Quintus van der Walt Street towards the victim, who was sitting in his white Volkswagen in front of a closed gate.
As the men neared the car, one suspect moved closer to the driver’s seat, while the other kept a lookout and moved towards the passenger’s side.
In a matter of about 12 seconds, the one suspect pried open the driver’s door. The suspect continued to struggle with the victim.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson Capt Lesibana Molokomme confirmed that the man was shot and wounded on his lower body during the struggle.
The victim ran away from the scene, seemingly clutching his wound with his left hand and waving his right hand in the air. During this time, the two suspects climbed into the vehicle and sped away.
The victim was taken to hospital by a neighbour. A source told EXPRESS the man is still recovering in hospital. The stolen vehicle was later found in Tembisa.
According to Molokomme, a case has been opened but no arrests have been made at this stage.
