UPDATE: Security guard discovers body with multiple stab wounds

According to his wife, the man was last seen leaving his home on Sunday morning at 11am

The body of a 35-year-old man was found covered in blood on the corner of Kwartel and Blombos roads in Birch Acres on Monday morning.

The body was discovered by Adam Dube, an Alpha Security & Alarms officer, outside the boom gates in the area.

“I was patrolling the area around 6.15am as per normal when I saw people were turning back and not using the pedestrian gate,” said Dube.

“I decided to go look and patrol around that area when I saw what looked like a man sleeping on the grass,” said Dube.

“As I approached, I realised the man wasn’t moving and there was a lot of blood around him.

Dube told EXPRESS he called his office, which reported the scene to the police.

“When the police and paramedics arrived, they assessed and declared the man dead on scene,” explained Dube.

The spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the man seemed to have been attacked.

“The deceased suffered multiple stab wounds but the weapon used is unknown at this stage,” said Molokomme.

“According to his wife, the man was last seen leaving his home on Sunday morning at 11am.

“A case of murder is being investigated but no arrests have been made yet.

“We appeal to the community to help with information regarding the case. If anyone saw or knows anything that could help with the investigation, they should contact the office on 011 391 1814/5.”
