Bonaero Park petrol attendant nabbed with dagga at petrol station

MORE than 20 bags of dagga were found in the possession of a suspect at a petrol station in Bonaero Park on Tuesday morning.

The suspect, who is a petrol attendant at the station, was arrested when police received a tip-off.

“Our crime prevention unit was busy with patrols in Bonaero Park when they received a tip-off about an employee at a petrol station allegedly in possession of drugs,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The officers went to the station and were able to locate the suspect. When they searched him they found dagga in one of his pockets and more in his boots.

“The suspect was questioned and he led the police to his locker at his workplace where they found more sachets of dagga.”

Twenty-six sachets were found in the suspect’s possession who was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and possibly dealing in drugs.

The suspect, in his early 30s, briefly appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
