Energy drinks worth about R1-million is still missing after the horse of a hijacked truck was recovered in Esther Park.

WO Grant Giblin, spokesperson for Benoni Flying Squad, said flying squad members recovered the Scania horse at 12.30pm on March 3.

The truck was reported hijacked in Springs.

“Police members were following information which led them to Esther Park where they found the vehicle. The cargo is still missing and investigations continue,” Giblin said.

At this stage, no suspect has been arrested.

Members are determined to make an arrest as soon as possible. Anyone with information can call their nearest police station or 10111.

“Benoni Flying Squad members are committed to assisting their local police stations and the community, including Kempton Park, in the fight against crime. We call on everyone to work with the police to put criminals behind bars,” Giblin added.
