Benoni Flying Squad recovers hijacked bakkie in Rabie Ridge

The vehicle was abandoned shortly after it was hijakced

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad have recovered a vehicle reported as hijacked in Tembisa on April 4 at about noon.

According to the Benoni Flying Squad communications officer, Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, the incident occurred after a man was hijacked of a white Nissan NP200 bakkie in Vusimuzi Section.

“Flying Squad members, Constable Phuti Dikgale and Constable Bongani Skosana, swiftly responded to the complaint and recovered the vehicle in Rabie Ridge where it was abandoned approximately 20 minutes after it was hijacked,” said Giblin.

He further said their members are continuing to do good work for the community as per the South African Police Code of Conduct.

“They take pride of their job and they always take into account the needs of the community. At this stage, no suspect has been arrested. Members are determined to make an arrest as soon as possible,” he added.
