A BMW 240i stolen during a house robbery in Farrarmere in Benoni was recovered in Esselen Park.
Three men armed with handguns and a knife assailed a woman at her home just before 6am on Tuesday morning, said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson.
The black BMW, as well as valuables including a laptop, cellphones, wrist watches and an undisclosed huge amount of cash, were stolen. The woman was unharmed. The BMW was recovered two hours later in Esselen Park after a vehicle tracking company posted the GPS co-ordinates of the stolen car.
“EMPD community liaison unit members swiftly responded and were able to track the vehicle down to Esselen Park. The vehicle was found around 7.40am abandoned but intact with the keys still in the ignition,” Kgasago added.
