Two hijacked beige Polos found in Tembisa by flying squad

One of the cars was hijacked on CR Swart Drive.

Two beige VW Polos, of which was one was hijacked on CR Swart Drive, were recovered in Tembisa by members of the Benoni Flying Squad this week.

W/O Grant Giblin, spokesperson for Benoni Flying Squad, said at this stage there was no information linking the two crimes.

The first VW Polo, hijacked in Jeppe, was found in Teanong Section in Tembisa on Monday at 11pm.

W/O Matsobane Maja and Sgt Rodney Ramoroka received information about the abandoned vehicle after it was stolen earlier that evening.

Continuing their duties on Tuesday, the two flying squad members went on to recover another abandoned, hijacked beige Volkswagen Polo at 10.40pm in Ixaxa Section, Tembisa. This one was hijacked on CR Swart Drive in Kempton Park.

“At this stage, no suspects have been arrested. Members are determined to make an arrest as soon as possible. Anyone with information can call their nearest police station or 10111,” Giblin said.
