Chinese man held for possession of four unlicensed firearms
According to the Tembisa South SAPS communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the police acted on a tip-off and on arrival at the man' s premises, two pistols and different types of ammunition were found in the safe which was mounted on the wall.
A 61-year-old Chinese national was apprehended on April 13 at Bredell in Kempton Park by members of the K9 Unit for possession of unlicensed pistols together with different types of ammunition.
According to the Tembisa South SAPS communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the police acted on a tip-off and on arrival at the man’ s premises, two pistols and different types of ammunition were found in a safe which was mounted on the wall.
“Later on Kempton Park SAPS went to the suspect’s house again and found two hunting rifles with ammunition. The suspect failed to produce licences for both firearms,” said Sekgobela.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court to face his charges.
