Roads in Spartan are being blocked off following an armed robbery in the industrial area earlier this afternoon.
According to initial reports, various shots were fired when an unknown number of suspects, apparently using four vehicles, attacked an armoured vehicle and its escort. It is believed they got away with money.

Roads have been closed at Kelvin Street and Forge Road.
According to an Express journalist at the scene cartridges were found on Kelvin Road, while the targeted truck is on Newton Street.
It is not yet known if there were any injuries.
