Three foreign shop owners were accosted, shot and killed in their shop on May 19.
Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Nelda Sekgobela said the three Somalians were serving their clients in their shop in Ehlanzeni Section, Tembisa, when three African males who were driving a silver Toyota Corolla with an unknown registration number arrived.
“Two of the suspects were armed with firearms. The victims suspected them since they came a day before but didn’t enter the shop.
“On arrival, the suspects started shooting at the victims. One of the victims sustained injuries and was taken to hospital while one died on the scene.
“Thereafter, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and airtime before they drove off in their silver Toyota Corolla,” said Sekgobela.
She said the three suspects are tall and dark in complexion. She added the Tembisa South SAPS has encountered four murders since 2015 which took place in the same section where the victims’ shops were robbed and they were killed.
The police is appealing to anyone with information regarding the suspects to come forward.
