Edleen son (21) allegedly steals dad’s car, arrested

Four other valuable items were also missing.

A man (21) was arrested in Edleen on Tuesday after allegedly stealing his father’s car and other valuable items.

“A complainant received a call from his wife informing him that his Ford Ranger was missing from their yard on Monday,” Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, told Express.

According to him, the man immediately suspected his son.

“The father called his son, who confirmed he took the car without permission.”

Upon arriving home, the father discovered that a cellphone, music system, laptop and watch were also missing. His son told him over the phone that the items had been pawned in Germiston.

“The car was left unattended at a mall in Germiston,” Molokomme added.

The suspect has since been arrested and the stolen vehicle and property recovered.
