Brag with your heritage to raise funds for libraries
The scrapbooking friends of Kempton Park Library, with the support of the Genealogical Society of South Africa, will open its doors to the public
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED SINCE PUBLISHED.
The Scrapbooking Friends of Kempton Park Library, with the support of the Genealogical Society of South Africa, will open its doors to the public on June 23 at 9am in the auditorium of Birchleigh Library.
The morning is subdivided into three sections:
1. Come and find out how to capture all necessary data for your greater family for safekeeping and for the next generation. Experienced researchers will assist you in filling in your own family sheets to take home.
Concrete tips and no abstract theory. Pay R60 for the morning. Members of the Friends only pay R50.
2. Show and brag. Bring any precious item you may have inherited and are proud of, such as a family register, handmade ornament, Bible with written in names and dates, an old album, painted portrait or similar.
You get a few minutes to talk about the item or to ask questions. R20 per entry.
3. Admire some heritage albums built by members of the Scrapbooking Friends’ circle. Entry to the exhibition only, no charge.
This is a fund-raising attempt for the Friends of The Kempton Park Libraries.
