Van Riebeeck Park SCF holds its AGM

All positions are voluntary and are for a five-year term.

Are you community-minded? Are you fed-up with crime and related security issues in your area?

Do you reside in, or work in, or own property in, or pay rates in Van Riebeeck Park? Are you a member of the VRP Community Policing initiative?

The Van Riebeeck Park Sector Community Forum (SCF) or the Community Policing Forum (CPF) will hold its annual general meeting on June 23 at 2pm at Casa Caritas on De Villiers Avenue.

All residents of the suburb are invited to attend, to express their views on crime, security, policing, and related subjects, and to also elect a new committee. Positions open for election are chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary, deputy secretary and events co-ordinator.

All positions are voluntary and are for a five-year term. All nominees must be VRP-CP members, reside in Van Riebeeck Park, be of good standing (ie no criminal record), and require a proposer and a seconder who must also be Van Riebeeck Park residents and existing members of VRP-CP.

Nominees will be required to give a short motivational speech at the meeting as to why they should be elected and both proposer and seconder (or at least one of the two) also need to be present.

If you want to join VRP-CP, send an email to atkinsonjulie@mtn.blackberry.com for a membership form. There is no membership fee.

For more detailed information regarding what is involved in each of the committee positions (and nomination forms), send an email to Com.pol.vrp.@gmail.com
