The power system was in a better position this morning but remains constrained.
With the incoming cold weather, Eskom anticipate added pressure on the system and call on all customers to use electricity efficiently throughout the day.

In the meantime, the Minister of Public Enterprises, Minister Pravin Gordhan, convened a meeting with the Eskom board and management and the three labour unions, NUM, NUMSA and Solidarity, with the intention to bring all parties to engage on the issues around the employee salary negotiations and disruption of electricity supply.
The spirit of the meeting was to get all parties to get back to negotiation table, to normalise relationships and to normalize operations at Eskom.
