A young man was arrested after he had a fight with a Grade 11 learner of Jiyane Secondary School in Tembisa South on June 8.
Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said it is alleged the victim was walking along the street next to the school with his friends when the incident occurred.
“They were outside the school premises and the suspect approached them and without any argument, slapped the victim with an open hand.
“The victim retaliated and the suspect ran to his house which is a few metres from the school. He came back with a knife. He then stabbed the victim with that knife in the upper part of his body,” said Sekgobela.
Sekgobela mentioned the victim was transported to hospital in an ambulance.
The suspect was taken to Tembisa South SAPS where he has been charged with assault with an intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
