38 people injured in six-taxi pile-up on Modderfontein Road

The patients were treated for their injuries and were transported to various hospitals

Thirty-eight people were injured on Tuesday morning following a rear-end collision between six taxis on Modderfontein Road in Greenstone.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 7.50am to find the six vehicles on the left-hand side of the road. The passengers had already climbed out of the vehicles and were walking around on the scene, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found two people had sustained moderate injuries while 36 others had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
