Kempton Park SAPS arrested a 43-year-old female on fraud charges at a bank on June 20 in Kempton Park CBD.
“The suspect arrived at the bank to apply for a loan of R150 000 and produced the relevant documents, including payslips and bank statements,” said Const Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson at Kempton Park SAPS.
“The bank contacted its forensic unit to verify the documents as the suspect looked suspicious.”
Ditshego said the forensic unit confirmed that the documents were fraudulent before the loan could be approved.
The police were called to the scene and arrested the suspect.
