Church and Department of Social Development give food to the needy

RoyalHouse International Church leads the fight against poverty.

Seventy-nine families received food parcels distributed during a programme recently launched by RoyalHouse International Church on June 18.

Leader of the church Pastor Welcome Thamsanqa Mlungisi Dlalisa said the donation took place in partnership with the Department of Social Development.

“In a small way, we think these food parcels will help fight poverty in our communities, especially where there is nobody that is formally employed.

“This is what we as the church stand for, we believe in helping out and closing the gap in our community. We need to be relevant as the church.

“The church will continue to play an active, positive role in the community of Tembisa,” added Dlalisa.

He said the programme will continue to grow as the church continues to identify other potential beneficiaries and also mobilise founders and strategic partners. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the church, the department and all volunteers and partners, including Agness Gwangwa, one of the community leaders in Entshonalanga, Tembisa.
