The suspect’s residence in Lekaneng Section was searched where clothing matching those on the video footage were found.

A suspect who was allegedly involved in a robbery in Spartan in mid-May had been nabbed by the metro police.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson, said the armed robbery took place on May 14 by an unknown number of perpetrators.

At least two of the assailants were caught on CCTV cameras.

“A tip-off enabled metro police members to track down one of the two suspects on the video footage. On June 21 at around 11am, the suspect was spotted in Lekaneng Section in Tembisa driving in a blue Ford Focus with a female passenger,” Kgasago said.

The suspect’s residence in Lekaneng Section was searched where clothing matching those on the video footage were found.

Although the suspect vehemently denied involvement in the Spartan armed robbery, he was detained at Kempton Park Police Station.
