Glen Marais’ Lucie hits all the right notes

Glen Marais’ pianist will represent South Africa at the World Championships of Performing Arts 2018.

Lucie Miller (13) played the right notes at the South African Championships for the Performing Arts (SACOPA) in Rustenburg.

Lucie, a Glen Marais piano player, represented Gauteng in the instrumental section and was awarded two medals, a gold and bronze when she played four pieces, contemporary, classical, jazz and urban.

In addition to her wins, Lucie was selected for the South African team that will represent the country at the World Championships for the Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2018 in California from July 6 to 15.

“It was Lucie’s first time participating in SACOPA and she gave it her all,” said Lucie’s mother, Karen Tarr.

“About 52 countries will be represented at the championships and we hope for the best. She obtained both provincial and South African colours for her achievements at SACOPA.”

Lucia will also perform four pieces in the different categories at WCOPA.
