One person was killed and three others injured following a cash-in-transit heist on North Rand and Atlas road in Boksburg on Thursday morning.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 6am, they found a woman seated in a taxi who sustained a gunshot wound. She was in a serious condition, Ineke van Huyssteen of ER24 said.
Paramedics also found two security guards who were injured. One of the guards sustained a gunshot wound to the foot and the other injuries to the foot.
One of the alleged suspects was fatally wounded.
ER24 transported the patients to hospital for further medical care.
