You too can be a leader and speech master through Kempton Park Toastmasters

Does the thought of giving a speech give you the shakes? And does leadership make you stress? Then Toastmasters is the club for you.

Do you wish you were more confident in public speaking, or a stronger leader? Luckily, these skills can be learned through Toastmasters Kempton Park.

This non-profit organisation helps community members to develop their leadership and communication skills.

“Not everyone is born a leader, but the good news is that anyone can become one through training,” Gladness Nale, a member of the club, told Express.

According to their website, Toastmasters has empowered over 300 000 individuals in 141 countries worldwide to become good communicators and leaders. No matter your age or occupation, you can become one of them, as the Kempton Park club is looking for new members.

“When you join Toastmasters you learn how to prepare and give a speech, think on your feet, listen and answer, plan and find your leadership path,” Nale added.

This, she said, is all done through a programme designed to help individuals find their own ways to communicate and lead successfully.

“You also learn to think on your toes, to learn, listen and give feedback.”

So, whether you dream of doing a job that requires public speaking and leadership or you just want to improve your general skills, this club is for you.

Join the Kempton Park branch every first and fourth Thursday of the month at 7pm. Meetings are held at Herfsland Retirement Village on Cactus Road.
