Five councillors successfully completed a course of Leadership in Municipal Governance and graduated at Wits School of Governance on July 12.
ANC Chief Whip Clr Jongizizwe Dlabathi said ANC Ekurhuleni Caucus congratulates the ANC councillors for their success.
In his congratulatory remarks, ANC Ekurhuleni Chief Whip Clr Dlabathi said, “Congratulations to our fellow ANC councillors in Ekurhuleni. Our commitment to build capable public representatives is a standing commitment.”
“This is a clear demonstration that the ANC government through its councillors will continue to serve the community of Ekurhuleni with utmost diligent and commitment to ensure that the good work that we are preceding over will actually benefit the residents,” said Dlabathi.
He said in the year of Nelson Mandela and Adelaide Tambo centenary, the nation is once more reminded of Tata Nelson Mandela’s words that “No country can really develop unless its citizens are educated”.

• Clr Phelisa Nkunjana
• Clr Sizakele Masuku
• Clr Remoe Mokone
• Clr Mziyanda Mketsu
Dlabathi said following the 2016 local government elections, through their executive, the current administration has committed to do the following over the next five years:
• Improve service delivery through visible and impactful programmes supported by Capex spending.
• Electrification of all informal settlements.
• Construction of 100 000 housing units.
• Provision of 59 000 service stands.
“Through this government, the ANC led government in Ekurhuleni further reaffirmed its stunts on education by increasing the bursary allocation from R10-million to R100-m. This is to ensure that more young people from Ekurhuleni gain access to institutions of higher learning and pursue their dreams,” said Dlabathi.
He said ANC led government’s commitment to good governance and clean administration is a standing commitment.
