Man busted in Edleen with nyaope

The suspect appeared suspicious, so patrolling officers gave him a pat-down.

A man was arrested in Edleen on July 9, after patrolling police members busted him with 0.64g of nyaope.

According to W/O Mahlodi Langa, acting spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, members of the station were on Besembos Avenue when they spotted the suspect.

“The man was acting suspiciously, so they stopped and searched him,” Langa said.

Nyaope, a mixture of drugs that can include dagga, heroin, anti-retroviral drugs and rat poison, was found in his pants’ left pocket. Its street value was estimated to be R30.

“The suspect could not give an explanation to the police about why he had the drugs,” Langa added. As a result, he was arrested for possession.
