Famous Tembisa musician to be buried this weekend

Albert Moroatshehla ALI KATT died after a long illness.

Legendary musician Ali Katt died after a lengthy illness at Tembisa Hospital on July 12.

The musician, born Albert Moroatshehla, started his musical career in 1976 in Tembisa in a band called Stop Pushing.

Family spokesperson Vukile Mgenge said within a short space of time Ali Katt joined a group called the Message.

“With his growing popularity, Ali Katt joined a performing band called The Minerals, performing with Kori Moraba.

He later worked with Sound Bust where groups like CJB, Benjamin Ball, and Johnny Mokgadi were formed.

“During his time in the entertainment industry, he worked with the likes of highly praised manager and promoter Jiza Jiza, chart-topping singer-songwriter Condry Ziqubu and multi-platinum selling artist and producer Thami Mdluli,” said Mgenge.

Mgenge said Ali Katt will be remembered for the hit single Let The Good Times Roll from his album Have Mercy produced by Godfrey Nzuza which was later remixed by Kabelo Mabalane.

He said the memorial service of Ali Katt will be held on July 19 at Sam Hlalele Hall in Tembisa at 12:30pm for 1pm. His funeral will be held on July 21 at the same venue at 9am and proceed to the cemetery afterward.
