Benoni Flying Squad makes several arrests in Tembisa

The police recovered a blue Toyota Tazz in Ivory Park stolen in Mamelodi

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad arrested four suspects for possession and dealing in drugs, possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and recovered one stolen motor vehicle in the North Rand.

The arrests occurred during a crime operation held from July 13 to July 15.

According to the Benoni Flying Squad communications officer, Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, the police arrested three suspects for drug-related charges.

“One in Riversand Squatter Camp, Ivory Park for dealing in dagga, the second suspect was arrested in Leboeng Section found with nyaope, heroine and the third also in Tembisa, Maokeng Section with Mandrax tablets. All suspects were immediately placed under arrest,” said Giblin.

Giblin further said the police recovered a blue Toyota Tazz in Ivory Park stolen in Mamelodi and arrested one suspect for possession of a hijacked blue Kia Rio in Xubeni Section.

“Investigations continue on all suspects and the police are determined to trace those who might be involved with stealing the one vehicle. All four suspects, aged 26 to 32, are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs and possession of a hijacked motor vehicle,” added Giblin.
