Belly dancers show off their new skills

It serves as a low impact form of exercise as well.

Almeya Belly Dance Studio held its 14th annual student showcase on June 23.

At the event, dancers showed what they have learned in front of family and friends.

Belly dance, also known as Raq Sharqi (dance of the Orient), has middle eastern roots and is becoming more popular with women in their 50s and 60s.

It serves as a low impact form of exercise as well.
