Tembisans graduate from Peermont Hotel School
Successful candidates must be available for the full four months of training
Since its inception in May 2016, the Peermont Hotel School (PHS), a CSI initiative of Emperors Palace, has changed the lives of more than 780 local youngsters by giving them theoretical training in various aspects of the hospitality industry. It has also offered them the chance to gain practical insight into vital roles within the industry.
In keeping with Peermont’s efforts to provide a sustainable future for the youth in the Ekurhuleni area, the Peermont Community Benefits Trust once again offers fully-funded skills programmes to successful candidates at the Peermont Hotel School.
Local residents, between the ages of 18 and 25, who have the desire to become a chef or housekeeper, are encouraged to apply for a sponsorship. Successful applicants have the opportunity to complete a four-month course at the school.
Successful candidates must be available for the full four months of training. Tthe programme is a combination of school-based training and practical training at Emperors Palace.
To be considered for a sponsorship an applicant must reside within Ekurhuleni (for at least the past year and a proof of residence needs to be provided), have passed matric and be fluent in English (verbal and written) with a minimum pass rate of 50 per cent in English and have no criminal record.
The total household income of the applicant must also be less than R8 000 nett per month to be considered.
