Khayelihle Pre-School and Day Care Centre in Mqantsa hosted a pyjama-wearing day in a fun way in order to raise funds.
The children and their teachers came to school wearing their pyjamas on June 29.
They started the day in a fun run and walk, aerobics and other educational activities.
The theme for the event was “Clothing”.
According to the principal of the centre, Naledi Mazibuko, they wanted to raise funds to buy paints and other items needed to renovate the school.
“It is about seven years now that we’ve been hosting this type of an event whereby we introduce our learners to various educational topics. This year we wanted to teach our children about the purpose and importance of clothing,” said Mazibuko.
School teacher Salome Sasa said the event was also intended to bring together parents of the children for an informal opportunity to connect, learn and inspire each other.
“It was a unique opportunity to experience a new way of networking. We had a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We are blessed to live in a wonderful supportive area. ,” added Sasa.
