Rabie Ridge SAPS has discovered a body with its head lying next to it along Modderfontein Road in Austin View on July 19.
Captain Mofana Masela, Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer, said the decapitated body was a 30-year-old Zimbabwean national, Davemore Mcube of Ivory Park.
“It is alleged by his brother, Aswell Mcube, that his deceased elder brother was kidnapped from his girlfriend’s house in Ivory Park at about 7pm.
It is alleged that the deceased’s throat was cut after the kidnapping and he was decapitated. His head was left in an open field next to the road,” said Masela.
Masela said the deceased’s mother was called to the scene and she positively identified her son’s body.
The Rabie Ridge SAPS are investigating a case of murder and according to Masela the suspects are unknown.
“SAPS is making the community aware of these incidents which are prevalent in the area and encourages them to report this immediately for the police to follow up.
Rabie Ridge SAPS is further calling on the community to help with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.
