Thornhill fête is back in October
There is still space available for outside stall holders to hawk their wares at this popular event.
Residents and management of Thornhill Manor Retirement Village in Modderfontein are putting their backs to the wheel getting organised for the village’s annual fête on October 6.
There will be loads of fun stuff, tons of food and all kinds of interesting traditional and imaginative stalls to attract attention.
According to the manor’s assistant manager, Jackie Scott, there is still space available for outside stall holders to hawk their wares at this popular event.
“What we are looking for are entrepreneurs who want to sell their homemade produce, from jewellery to knitwear and just about everything in between,” says Jackie.
This craft-orientated event has become a firm Modderfontein favourite over the years and features homemade cakes, tarts and biscuits, jams, pickles and preserves which are always firm favourites.
For foodies, national dishes add a touch of spice with South African boerewors, American hamburgers, German bockwurst and potato salad and English bacon and egg rolls catering for all tastes. Tea and beer gardens are there to whet the whistle while the tried and trusted white elephant stall will offer bargains galore.
