Suspects caught in the act stealing at complex on Long Street

Two suspects face charges of theft out of a motor vehicle, following an incident on July 26.

“A security officer at a complex on Long Street was performing his duties patrolling when he saw two suspicious-looking males standing next to a tenant’s vehicle,” said Const Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The officer said he went closer and realised the driver’s door was open and the spare wheel was on the ground. The officer grabbed one suspect, while the other ran.

“A security officer working next door to the complex heard what was happening and assisted in apprehending the other suspect.”

Police were called to the scene and both suspects, aged 25 and 26, were arrested.
