Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre calls on schools to enter food drive challenge

Three food items in three months per learner could make all the difference.

Calling all local school-goers. Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre has a festival food drive challenge for you.

The centre on Monument Road would like to see which school can collect the most non-perishable food before November 17.

This competition with a cause will, hopefully, see hundreds of food supplies donated to MES Kempton Park, just in time for the festive season.

“If each learner could support us with one item a month for three months, what a difference that would make to ensure that no one goes hungry this festive season,” said Ada Botes, spokesperson for the project.

She added that a floating trophy would be up for grabs for the school with the most donations.

Donation drop-off points include Checkers and Intercare at Cavendish Glen.
