Police arrested a man on CR Swart Drive/Zuurfontein Road for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle on August 1.
Ekurhuleni North Cluster communications officer Capt Neldah Sekgobela said Warrant Officer Justice Moshupya from Sebenza SAPS was driving alone in a state motor vehicle when he heard about a silver-grey Jeep Cherokee being hijacked in Jeppe.
“He spotted the motor vehicle along CR Swart Drive/Zuurfontein Road and gave chase.
“He managed to stop it after firing some shots towards the vehicle, but didn’t injure anyone.
“That’s when he managed to get hold of the suspect. He searched him and arrested him for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
“The suspect was taken to Sebenza SAPS,” said Sekgobela.
