Donate unwanted clothes towards street store in Norkem Park
The clothes you never wear could make a big difference in someone's life.
Imagine not having the privilege of walking into a clothing store that suits your budget, seeing something you like, finding your size, and buying it. Imagine having to be happy with what you get, whether it’s your size or not?
For many less fortunate people in Kempton Park, this is a reality.
Luckily, a group from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kempton Park would like to change this.
“We would like to create a dignified shopping experience for people who cannot afford it,” said a member of the church, Coba Keizer.
A street store will be held on August 18 at 337 Pongola River Drive in Norkem Park. There, less fortunate people will have the opportunity to browse through donated clothes and find something they like. Afterwards, they will receive a meal. They will not have to pay a cent. The event will be from 10am to 1pm. If there are still clothes left, the event will continue.
Before this event can become a reality, the church is in need of clothing donations.
“Although we have many women’s clothes, we need more clothing for men,” Keizer said. She added that any donations of any sizes are still welcome.
To make a donation, she can be contacted on 071 760 1606.
