Benoni Flying Squad members arrested six suspects for various offences in the North Rand on August 10.
Communications officer for the Benoni Flying Squad, Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, said two of the suspects were arrested in Daveyton, close to the mall. One man was found in possession of dagga and another with nyaope.
“In Tembisa, three suspects were arrested for shoplifting, one at Tembi Mall and two at K111 Centre on Republic Road.
“Lastly, in Winnie Mandela Zone 10, a suspect was found with a large quantity of counterfeit DVDs and CDs. He was arrested immediately and the items were confiscated,” said Giblin.
Giblin said the investigations continue.
All six suspects, aged from 22 to 32, will be appearing soon in the local magistrates’ courts to face their charges.
