A 34-year-old man of Temong Section handed himself over to Tembisa SAPS after he allegedly shot and killed a 28-year-old man on August 8.
According to the Tembisa SAPS communications officer, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, the deceased was a mechanic and his business was based in an open veld in Temong Section.
“The allegations are that while the 28-year-old mechanic was busy repairing cars the suspect came to him complaining that he was not satisfied with the work done on his vehicle. He demanded to be refunded the money that he paid the mechanic to repair his car,” said Ralidzivha.
Ralidzivha added that an argument ensued between the two.
“In the heat of the argument, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the deceased in the left side of his chest. The 28-year-old man was rushed to a hospital and he was certified dead on arrival,” added Ralidzivha.
He said the suspect walked away from the scene and disappeared.
“The police went to his house to look for him but to no avail. On the morning of August 11, he handed himself over to the Tembisa SAPS. He also handed over the firearm that he used to shoot the deceased. He was forthwith arrested for murder and detained at Tembisa SAPS,” said Ralidzivha.
