Alleged scooter thief nailed in Tembisa by EMPD

Man arrested for allegedly stealing a scooter in Kempton Park.

EMPD Equestrian members arrested a man for the possession of a stolen scooter on August 13.

EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said metro police stopped a man on a motorcycle which displayed no number plates. Preliminary investigations revealed that the bike had been stolen.

“The driver of the scooter was handcuffed at 9.30am.

The engine number confirmed that the Big Boy Swift 125cc scooter had been stolen in Kempton Park in April.

“The 33-year-old foreign national male was charged at Tembisa police station for possession of a stolen motor vehicle,” said Kgasago.

Kgasago said the suspect was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
