The suspect was transported to Tembisa Hospital under police guard

A suspect was transported to Tembisa Hospital under police guard after a failed hijacking attempt last Monday evening.

“The victim alleged he was sitting in his car on Monument Road waiting for somebody who was in a dance class when he was attacked,” said Const Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson at Kempton Park SAPS.

“The victim said the suspects pounced on him with a sharp object and they began fighting for the object. The victim managed to take the object and stab the suspect in the upper body.”

Members of SecPros, Alpha, P & C and Target security services were also at the scene.

“Police were called to the scene and the suspect, in his late 30s, will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted hijacking after hbeing discharged from hospital,” said Ditshego.
