Sebenza SAPS provides girls with sanitary pads

Sebenza SAPS provided the Grade Seven girls with information on sexual offences

Sebenza SAPS visited Edleen Primary School on August 16 to give Grade Seven girls a talk about sexual offences.

Spokesperson for Sebenza SAPS Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso said the girls needed to be taught about what sexual offences are and report it if it happens to them.

“In our area we only have primary schools but we think this information is better given to girls at a tender age. As a social crime, we visit local schools to talk about sexual offences,” said Tsotsotso.

Tsotsotso said they decided to bring the girls something this time around and brought them sanitary pads.

“We went to Longmeadow Pick n Pay warehouse and asked for a sponsor for sanitary pads,” she said.

Pick n Pay sponsored the police with sanitary pads for the girls.

Pick n Pay also gave them sweets which were given to the Grade R learners at Edleen Primary School.
